Throughout my career, I've delivered groundbreaking projects, collaborated with high-profile clients, and received extensive praise from many of my former colleagues. However, I’ve also experienced the challenges that come with navigating the workplace as a neurodivergent individual. Like many autistic people, I’ve struggled to access the workplace support needed for a proper work/life balance. If this resonates with you, especially if you are neurodivergent, you may find that you need someone who understands your unique needs and can guide you on your journey to professional development. That’s why I founded Assist ND. My mission is to provide neurodivergent coaching that empowers individuals to not just 'cope' at work, but truly thrive both inside and outside their professional lives.
I believe there is no 'one size fits all' solution for making your job manageable, especially for neurodivergent people. If you feel you need some support in your professional development—whether to continue in your current role, pursue a promotion, or even start your own business—I would love to talk with you. Together, we can create a personalized neurodivergent coaching program that will help you leverage your strengths at work, allowing you to focus less on professional problems and more on your success.
Many workplaces are structured for a neurotypical world, which can lead to frustrations for neurodivergent individuals. Often, our challenges arise from being expected to navigate systems that aren't designed for people like us, and this can be exhausting. Through neurodivergent coaching, I can provide you with workplace support to help you understand your colleagues' needs and motivations. I can also assist you in expressing your own needs and work collaboratively to create structures that allow you to achieve your best work while also supporting your colleagues. This approach is a valuable aspect of professional development in a diverse work environment.
Often, the biggest blocker to making progress at work is organisation. For many, especially those seeking neurodivergent coaching or professional development, it’s common to feel overwhelmed by the workload or to experience guilt when tasks aren't completed on time. I can provide workplace support to help you get organised in a way that suits your needs, allowing you to spend less time updating your to-do list and more time getting things done.
If it feels like you spend hours each week sorting out your diary, I can help you reclaim your time. It's challenging to be genuinely productive, especially for those benefiting from neurodivergent coaching, when you're constantly firing off emails to arrange a time for everyone to meet. I can manage your work diary or set up effective systems that provide workplace support, making it much easier for you to handle your day-to-day tasks and enhance your professional development.
Do you feel anxious every time an app pings, or you see that little red circle above the email icon? For many, managing emails and notifications—regardless of their importance—can be distracting and erode focus. Through neurodivergent coaching, I offer workplace support to help you set up systems that minimize distractions. I can also coach you toward improved working practices, or assist you by managing emails and notifications on your behalf, all aimed at enhancing your professional development.
Elected as a city councillor, I have served in administration within a UK core city. I have advocated for neurodivergent individuals at work within tech companies, political parties, public panels, and recognized charities, emphasizing the importance of workplace support. I’ve successfully grown staff teams from scratch, managing recruitment and line management while focusing on professional development. My experience includes managing six-figure budget projects for major clients, including global universities, leading charities, and well-known tech companies. I have developed significant bids for government and EU-funded projects, representing organizations on an international stage, and secured national and regional media coverage for pivotal campaigns. Additionally, I have organized fundraising events that attracted five-figure donations and devised grassroots events that drew hundreds of participants across multiple locations in the country. I also provide media and public speaking coaching for political leaders and have overseen the production of some of the world's most popular open online courses, including the first major online course on COVID-19. Now, I'm available to support neurodivergent individuals like you in taking the next step at work, whether that involves launching a new venture, leading a major project, or achieving a better work/life balance.
