During my career I've delivered some groundbreaking projects, worked with high-profile clients, and received extensive praise from many of my former colleagues.
But I've also found the world of work hard. Like many autistic people, I've struggled to get the support I needed to have a proper work/life balance.
Some of this probably sounds familiar if you're neurodivergent like me. If it does, then you might need someone to support you - someone who truly understands what you need to be your best self at work. That's where Assist ND comes in.
I set up Assist ND because I want to help other neurodivergent people not just 'cope' at work, but thrive inside and outside their working lives.
I believe there is no 'one size fits all' solution to making your job manageable, and that's even more true for neurodivergent people.
If you think you need some support to be able to continue doing your job, to get a promotion, or to start your own business, then I'd love to talk with you.
Together, we can co-create a support package that will enable you to play to your strengths at work, and spend less of your time and energy worrying about professional problems.
Lots of workplaces are designed for a neurotypical world. Sometimes our frustrations and problems at work come from being expected to navigate structures not designed for people like us, and it can be exhausting. Through workplace coaching, I can help you understand your colleagues' needs and motivations, help you express your needs to them, and create structures with you that allow you to deliver your best work in the way you need to, while keeping your colleagues happy too.
Often the biggest blocker to making progress at work is organisation. It's very common to feel overwhelmed by the amount of work you've got to do, or feelings of guilt if you can't get everything done on time. I can help you get organised in a way that works for your needs, so you can spend less time updating your to-do list, and more time getting things done.
If it feels like you spend hours each week just sorting out your diary, then I can help. It's hard to be genuinely productive if you're firing off emails to arrange a time when everyone can meet. I can look after your work diary for you, or set you up with systems that make it much easier for you to manage day-to-day.
Do you feel anxious every time an app pings, or you see that little red circle above the email icon? Dealing with emails and notifications, no matter how important they are, is distracting and can steal your focus. I can help you by setting up your systems to reduce distractions, coaching you towards changing your working practices, or looking after emails and notifications on your behalf.
Sometimes what you need at work is an ally, someone to be in your corner to support you when there's a problem. If you need help getting your colleagues, management or HR to understand what you need to deliver your best work, I can help advocate for you. If you're neurodivergent, contact me in confidence to discuss your situation, so we can see if I can help.
If you're neurodivergent and based in the UK, did you know that you can get support funded through the government's Access to Work scheme? I can support you by helping you find out how you can access this funding, and providing a quote for a bespoke support package when you apply for funding. If successful, I can then offer you workplace support funded through the scheme, making it much more affordable for both you and your employer.
I'm now available to help neurodivergent people like you take the next step at work, whether that's getting your new venture off the ground, leading a major project or getting your work/life balance in order.
